In der Nacht zum Mittwoch gegen 3:45 Uhr geriet eine Scheune an der Spierheide in Kalkar-Kehrum in Brand. Der Rauchwarnmelder zwischen der Scheune und dem Flur des angrenzenden Wohnhaus löst aus und weckte die Bewohner des Hauses.
Die alarmierten Feuerwehren aus Kalkar, Hönnepel, Appeldorn und Niedermörmter konnten das Wohnhaus vor den Flammen schützen, allerdings brannte die Scheune bis auf die Grundmauern herunter.
Die Brandursachenermittlung wurde aufgenommen.
